Senior Player Code of Conduct

 

Mission Statement:

 

To provide our players with the most professional baseball experience possible.

 

Purpose

 

The Manly Eagles Baseball Club (MEBC) is committed to fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and high performance both on and off the field. As a senior player, you represent the club, the community, and the sport

of baseball. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected of all senior players.

 

  1. Commitment to the Club
  • Attend all scheduled training sessions, games, and team meetings unless prior notice is given to the
  • coach or team manager.
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to contribute positively to the team’s success.
  • Wear the club uniform with pride and maintain it in a clean and presentable condition.

 

  1. Professionalism and Respect
  • Uphold the values and reputation of the MEBC in all interactions, both on and off the field.
  • Show respect to coaches, teammates, officials, opponents, volunteers, and supporters.
  • Accept decisions made by umpires without dissent.

 

  1. Training and Performance Standards
  • Train with purpose, intensity, and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain peak physical fitness and personal readiness throughout the season.
  • Be open to feedback and strive to implement coaching advice into performance.

 

  1. Behaviour and Sportsmanship
  • Play within the rules and in the spirit of the game.
  • Demonstrate leadership through positive example, especially in the presence of junior players.
  • Avoid abusive language, unsportsmanlike conduct, or behaviour that could bring the club into disrepute.

 

  1. Alcohol, Drugs, and Social Conduct
  • Refrain from the use of illegal substances and performance-enhancing drugs.
  • Consume alcohol responsibly during official duties or events.
  • Be mindful of public behaviour, particularly on social media, as you are always a representative of the MEBC.

 

  1. Team Culture and Leadership
  • Support your teammates, celebrate successes, and handle setbacks with resilience.
  • Take ownership of your role within the team and be a contributor to a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Assist in mentoring and encouraging junior players within the club.

 

  1. Accountability
  • Breaches of this Code of Conduct will be addressed by the MEBC Committee and may result in
  • disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of playing privileges.
